I dunno if you count 1990 as late eighties
1990
Hardware, Mindwarp, Frankenhooker, Basket Case 2, Childsplay 2, Class of 1999, Nightbreed, Night of the Living Dead, Tremors, Leatherface,
1989
Heathers, Intruder, Society, Tetsuo, Vampire's Kiss
1988
Critters 2, Dead Ringers, Hellbound, Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Phantasm II, Phantom of Death, Return of the Living Dead II(I liked it)
1987
Bad Taste, Deathrow Gameshow, Dolls, Evil Dead II, Ghoulies II, Hellraiser, Street Trash.
1986
Aliens, Chopping Mall, Class of Nukem High, Critters, The Fly, From Beyond, Henry, The Hitcher, Terrorvision.

I think it's a bit harsh to dismiss the late eighties with these that I just took from the list of films I keep of ones I've watched.

Yeah but I think the late 80s always gets a bit unfairly lamented by those who love the 70s.

They were different times.

Upon re watching I found the pacing a bit slow, but as far as doing a ridiculous premise and taking full advantage of it, while still keeping semi-serious(think Critters), it's in a league of it's own. Helped by one of the best horror theme tunes ever.

Anyway the adage that all publicity is good publicity has changed. The days when a news paper outrage provoked higher sales of the title in question are gone. Now everyone is so hell bent on being family friendly that it's been made clear that any such titles getting into the papers just won't be stocked.

Interesting times to be Shameless for sure!

If your looking for the Mary Millington rights, search out ALAN G PARKER on facebook, director of Who Killed Nancy.....he might be able to help

I can think of another company that may be more suitable to release it.
