Like Peter I would love a forgotten slashers box set, films such as HONEYMOON HORROR, ICED, THE PREY, FINAL TERROR, SLAUGHTER HIGH, HELL NIGHT, CURTAINS etc etc etc.

I'd also like some of S.F. Brownrigg's work given the releases they deserve. More people need to see the likes of POOR WHITE TRASH II and KEEP MY GRAVE OPEN.

I'd also throw "Don't go in the House" into the mix.

Yes, I know it's out on R1 via Shriek Show, but this one doesn't have a single R2 release so far and should shift a reasonable amount of DVDs based on its nasty status and potentially "interesting" cover art possibilties alone.

Add to that an uncut "Don't answer the Phone" (also lacking heavily in the R2 department, apart from the heavily precut and barebones ABUK disc, which is oop anyway) and you'd have a "Shameless" "DON'T!"-doubledecker!

It will be interesting to see if Don't Answer the Phone would pass uncut today. Close call.

Well, it's like an exploitation movie WITHOUT the exploitation, really.

Somewhat works if you're in the mood for a taste of "edited for TV" out of curiosity...but how often that'll be the case...?

Even if a bit still had to be cut, a signifcantly fuller version should certainly be in the realms of possibility.

Let's say the uncut version has significantly more on show than what the abuk version has....

The AB UK release of Don't Answer the Phone presents the R version/US TV version. Almost all the cuts were to remove female nudity, they clearly had little problem with the violence itself, but where there was any sight of nudity there were cuts and as nudity in this film is rampant it meant the removal of a lot of footage - just under 3m. The BBFC often cut films for exactly the same reason (see House on the Edge of the Park & I Spit on Your Grave). Interestingly though in regards to this particular film they were remarkably lenient with their cuts in 1980. Methinks a pre cut version must have been submitted.
