I did not mean to say your morbid btw was just saying people who enjoy mondo flicks such as traces are.
I seen clips of traces and its not entertaining at all, plus the over the top "voice over" which tries to be funny does not work at all and just comes across as a douche ha ha
A good reason why you should never tar something you’ve not seen with the same brush as something you have and not enjoyed.

I used to refuse to watch something just because it was directed by someone I had formed an opinion of based solely on one or two of their other films that I had seen. I’m a lot more open-minded these days and will give most things a chance.

as has been said already, most of the Mondo films would get cut to ribbons by the BBFC (and for once I can understand it, I actually quite 'like' Africa Addio, but it's truly dubious...) - I mean, they'd but the 90 minutes down to 5, and even that would be fuzzed out.

There's many better things awaiting release!

Whilst there certainly are Mondo films like that (sometimes presented offensively facetiously too - á la Traces Of Death) the genre has much more to offer. The shocking but brilliant The Killing Of America is a powerful anti-violence documentary that uses real footage to emphasize the unpleasantness and absurdity of a violent society spiralling out of control. I would recommend it to anyone, despite it being hard viewing.

The same could be said about This Is America 1,2,3,The Shocks 1 & 2 and True Gore 1 & 2.

Those of us over a certain age can remember when programmes like Survival that would regularly air footage that wouldn't look out of place on early Mondo films like Africa Addio, etc.

The Mondo genre covers many variations from tribal like Savage Man Savage Beast, sleaze fests from Bruno Mattei, to Autopsy morticians like Road to Eden, and finally Death films like traces/faces/facez ETC

I'm a hardened gorehound but even I gave up on Traces of Death.
When the BBFC banned the first one I immediately got the US boxset .
Part 1 was hard to stomach and I couldn't bear to watch the rest .
Eventually sold the boxset to another forum member on here.

But I would not advocate the banning of such material . Adults should be able to choose for themselves but apart from freedom to choose the release of such material is hard to justify.

The Mondo Cane boxset was too tame so I sold that too

I'd definitely stay away from the Japanese and South American Mondo stuff then
