Giallo Venezia

I would like to see a severed leg in the fridge again in this italian gore flick.

Demdike@Cult Labs 23rd March 2011 06:02 PM

This would be Shameless's greatest release.

trench 23rd March 2011 06:19 PM

It would, but it'll never happen unfortunately.

Funnily enough, I actually watched this for the first time in ages last night and it got me thinking, just where have I seen that killer before?:)

that song used to play on Atlantic 252 sometimes back in the day.

You would swear that it's the killer when Joe has those mirrored shades on in the beginning.:cool:

Come to think of it, wasn't his follow up a cover of the Nolan's 'I'm in the mood for stabbing'?

Amertume 28th March 2011 01:04 AM

@ trench
why not?

I so so so so want to see this film...
:/

Someone else probably knows a lot more about this than I do, but I recall reading somewhere that there are no known elements in decent shape *cries* as well as something about the rights holder not wanting to license the film?

At the same time, though, it was mentioned as an upcoming Mya release, but that was ages ago.

Judging by some of Mya's past efforts I don't think something as inconsequential as missing elements would stop them releasing This! :D

I watched this again last week and even in Italian with no English subtitles it's still entrancing in it's own uber-trashy way. Its' sheer mean spiritedness always astounds me, especially the scene with the prostitute in the dump. Ouch!, that's got to hurt!:fear:

Edit: It has a cracking theme tune as well. It's as out of place as Ritz Ortolani's lush strings in Cannibal Holocaust.

The funny thing is that the entire soundtrack was lifted from Interrabang, another giallo that's unfortunately completely absent on disc :(

mr 420 18th July 2011 02:22 PM

I never knew that, thanks for the info! On a side note, did you ever see the Italian kids TV show that was also called Interrabang? I used to love it, it involved a couple of guys looking for small leaning towers of Piza statues all over the world while been chased by the mafia. It was awful but I loved it.

EvilFactor 18th July 2011 03:48 PM

Hah, no! But it sounds very intriguing. Gotta see if I can track some down!

mr 420 18th July 2011 03:50 PM

There are bits and pieces of it on youtube bud.;)

mr 420 18th July 2011 04:06 PM

Here's the opening.

‪INTERBANG‬‏ - YouTube

Edit: It's actually called Interbang!

mr 420 18th July 2011 04:08 PM

Interbang ranks right up there with The Legend of Tim Tyler (The boy who lost his laugh) for anybody who remembers it.
