Default Anthropophagous

I saw this mentioned in another thread, and I think this deserves a decent release. I already got my region 1 DVD and I'm very happy with it, but it would be a great release for Shameless to serve the european market without any cuts.

I'd love to see Shameless release Anthropophagous uncut, I'd snap it up instantly.

Me too.

It's a favourite of mine in need of an uncut UK release. Would look great in a yellow box, too.

Anything to bury the memory of the awful GRim Reaper release we were saddled with. The US release is vastly better and uncut, of course.
I'm not sure what it is I like about the movie. There's something about it, possibly atmosphere, that I like.

I know what you mean about Anthro.I'd never seen the film until I got the Shriek Show release, until then I'd only ever read about it.From what I read it was slow-paced and boring, but there were a couple of choice gore scenes and it was an official nasty so I had to see it uncut for myself. When I did watch it, I loved it! It's got loads of atmosphere, a great monster in George Eastman, foetus chomping, gut munching, and a suitably strange electronic score.Whats not to love about Anthropophagous?

I wonder if the fetus scene would get through intact now?

Judging by what does get through, I reckon it would.
If the distributors made a big thing about it in pre-advertising campaigns, like with the scenes in ASF, then probably not. If it was quietly submitted with no fanfare, then maybe.

The fetus scene would pass easily. in fact it would have passed last time had the scene been present in the submitted version. The sequence is just laughable, there's no way the BBFC would take this particular shot, which lasts barely 10 seconds, seriously. The lack of detail would also be a mitigating factor.

Imo it is quite dull, however due to its notoriety i am sure if Shameless were to release the film it would fly off the shelves.
