That looks good, cheers.

But he's hardly a star, his name is only fourth on the cast list of the film this threads about.
His IMDB credits aren't much better.

It depends on how you define star.

I would not describe John Morghen or David Hess as a stars but any film they are in are must sees for me.

Totally agree with you , however Hess and Morghen do actually top the bill of the majority of their cult releases. Hess especially.

I think we can agree to differ with this.

I see your user status is "fiend" - hope to read more of your posts in the future.

Truly a horrendous way to go no doubt!

Despite already owning the ABUS DVD and Euro steelbook edition, a Shameless release of CAR would be welcome. Especially if Medusa's typically awesome VHS artwork made it as a cover.

I've never seen this but would love to see Shameless release some more Deodato films.

Richard lynch... check out bad dreams, one of his best.

As for cut and run, well judging by the pq of the anchor bay disc, the available print must be excellent so no reason a blu-ray won't look awsome.

ps..check out the beginning of cut and run again.. Lawrence fishburne!!!

Interesting that this was shot in a "soft" and "hard" version (violence/gore).
I seem to remember the German CMV dvd has the alternate scenes as a bonus.
It's also completely in English.

At least one scene (tree sequence) seems to come from a different source in all dvd versions I've seen.
Possibly a tape master.

I think the difference in the 'soft' and 'hard' violence is mostly in the film's opening massacre isn't it? Those 'blades-through-the-lower-legs' shots certainly are wince-inducing it has to be said!

I also agree the movie's PQ does dip during the 'tree tearing' scene on the ABUS DVD and wasn't CAR available uncut many moons ago as a Hong Kong sourced VCD version?

There are a lot more scenes where alternate footage was shot.
Take a look at this comparison:

The version that I watched in the cinema when it was released over here (Belgium) didn't contain the hard tree sequence so I guess it was the softer version?
