Jean Rollin

I'd love to see Shameless get there hands on some of his back catologue, esp Reqium for a vampire and the living dead girl. I know redmeption/salvation released these a while back, but I can't recall there being any extras.

The world rights are owned by Redemption - they're currently re-transferring them all to HD.

Le Frisson des Vampires in HD? I'll be all over that like a rash.

Which of his films should I seek out? I've only seen Lips of Blood, and that bored me to tears  . . .

I've not seen Lips Of Blood but i liked The Living Dead Girl, Fascination and The Grapes Of Death, some think he's a bit too arty but i've seen about 6 of his films and i liked them.

Id start with Living Dead Girl. Its like Rollins 'Smells like Teen Spirit' as its the most well known and I personally think its his best. Even Rob Zombie named a song after it, so you know its worth a look.

Really sure that they own the rights in the whole world? Many of them has been released by AWE

Slippery Jack 26th September 2011 03:50 PM

Well, if it's good enough for Rob Zombie  ...

Cheers. I'll seek that one out and take it from there . . .

Living Dead Girl is funnily enough the only film of Jean Rollin's I have seen and I really think its a wonderfully made film with a great artistic feel
