Default THE BABY (1973)

I saw 'The Baby' (directed by Ted Post of 'Beneath The Planet Of The Apes' fame) a number of years ago on telly and it has to be one of the most awesomely disturbing horrors ever. Currently unavailable, if Shameless released it, well, my day would be made.

'The Baby' would make such an ideal addition to the Shameless collection. Seriously, Shameless - put it in a yellow box!

There's even 2 older (oop now) US releases (Image/Geneon).

Yep. A nice R2 Shameless edition would be sweet.

I remember catching this late one Friday/Saturday night on BBC1. I'm only 28 but even I'm nostalgic for the day when late night BBC used to yield the occasional odd nugget like this.

I'd therefore love to see this in a yellow box.

i remember watching that gem of a film around 12-13 yrs ago on BBC2 and i agree it will sell if shameless gets the rights to it
the film also had a ending that truly makes sense yet still be slightly disturbing

No offence to anyone but why do we have suggestions "Why don't Shameless release?" when you ask about US films? Shameless have always (assuming will do too) released ITALIAN films, why would a label that has built a fanbase suddenly turn round and put out product not in the genre/country that they have spent years cultivating?, Arrow maybe but Shameless?...NO! (unless of course they want to go the way of Severin - releasing sh*t tits n ass comedies that only a couple of nerds will buy and become an online laughing stock)

*sorry for any Severin fans but come on "purveyors of smut" now releasing straight to video dreck with Nicole Kidman riding a BMX with her tits oot?

A wonderful film.

Ted Post was such an under-rated director - taught Clint Eastwood a lot about directorial/camera technique on the sets of Rawhide in the early 60s.

Did similarly excellent jobs on Hang 'Em High, Go Tell The Spartans, The Harrad Experiment and one of Chuck Norris's few good films, Good Guys Wear Black.

The Baby really is a bizarre curio, both generally and in Post's canon. But what a fantastic thing for Hollywood to come out with!

Tempted to put it on now, actually!
