Lipstick (1976)

I remember seeing the film 'Lipstick', staring sisters Margaux and Mariel Hemingway, on the television in the late 70's/early 80's

I remember it as a violent rape/revenge thriller

As far as I'm aware, it has never been released on video or DVD

It's a movie I would love to see again

There's a R1 disc which I own & a dutch dvd release. The UK video from Paramount lost about 3 minutes of the rape footage. The version shown on ITV was heavily cut replacing the worst parts of the rape with 'still shots'
DUTCH R2
LIPSTICK DVD (R2/NEW/1976) MARGAUX HEMINGWAY, CHRIS SARANDON | eBay

This was released uncut on UK video in the pre cert years, but the R1 DVD is the best way to go until we get a Blu Ray.

I remember the TV screening - my first experience of the film - and the difference seeing the full uncut version made.

Kind of like seeing the uncut Death Wish 2 for the first time. Tough stuff!

Yes I still regard DW2 depiction of gang rape as one of the nastiest & most graphic depicted on film. It's unlikely to pass uncut in the UK for many years yet.I'd seen a brief clips on a Channel 4 documentary when James Ferman showed a few scenes (SEX & THE CENSOR) but was still shocked when I saw the uncut Australian disc.

They need the lipstick soundtrack. Chris sarandons 'music' is hilarious.

Decent rape revenge movie overall, becomes more a courtroom drama midway through then picks up near the end.

There's also a Thai R0 release of the film you can usually find on Ebay.
