Not that I recall Paul, but you never know... It is a ridiculous scene but the idea of it is still a taboo-baiter and that may be enough to aggravate the BBFC.

I can't imagine the BBFC being bothered by anything in either of these two films at all. Not now.

They're both pretty rubbish if you ask me, but Absurd is the slightly more interesting of the two. I can't imagine ever wanting to buy copies of either.

They are both sleazy fun but Buio Omega is by far D'Amatos best film and should be seriously considered to be released on blu-ray in OAR.
Vampix, Rik and Crimson Blade like this.

The BBFC are currently trying to demonise the current crop of movies. Anthro would get by uncut, I reckon. They have new targets, the old films are no longer the danger in their view anymore.

No...kids watching rotten.com are more the danger now, but let's not talk about that...

Would welcome both of these in Shameless yellow but would need to be uncut for me to replace my existing DVD's. Like Anthropophagus but not so much Absurd.

Shameless have responded to this with some very interesting details...

Quote:
Shameless Screen Entertainment - "In regards to Anthropophagus, it is indeed short-listed. We’ve taken it into very serious consideration and we've come to the same conclusion that we would face another battle with the BBFC. We're not sure we wish to go down that route yet again! But we have a radical solution to such problems – something which we may implement in 2013. In fact we have many plans for 2013 not just in terms of what films we will release - but how ... "

No offence to Shameless and the guys that work hard there, but I'd prefer them not to release this because I would want a multitude of extra features included and not just a few trailers that I always skip anyway

That sounds like they're thinking of going down the route Redemption took, and releasing stuff in Europe and have people import them from online shopping etc. although that's just speculation obviously.

That is a great idea in terms of circumventing the BBFC.

I'd be very, very, very surprised if the BBFC had a problem with ANTHROPOPHAGUS.
