ACID - delirio dei sensi (dir. Giuseppe Maria Scotese, 1968)

Just seen this recently after having first found out about it while researching work by Stephen Forsyth, after watching Mario Bava's Hatchet for the Honeymoon, about twelve years ago. It's a very interesting example of a late 1960s psychedelic psuedo-mondo film about LSD which tries to convince the viewer they are watching a documentary when it's pretty obvious from the outset the "real people" are actors. :tongue1: Some of the imagery and camera work is very interesting (cinematography by Giampaolo Santini (Il lungo giorno della violenza)), as is the sound design during the trip scenes. Music is by Lavagnino & Trovajoli.

There is a release on modcinema, but it is a heavily cut 82 minute version, framed at 4:3. I believe this film deserves a full 92 minute, 2.35:1 release, preferably including commentary or interview with actor Stephen Forsyth (Hatchet for the Honeymoon), who I just found out is alive and well and producing great artwork in Canada.

What does everyone else think?
