Did you watch Prisoner in the Grampian ITV days?

This and the other ITV regional threads are here so you can take a trip back down memory lane and let us know how you discovered Prisoner, how your local ITV company showed it (some were better than others in how they treated the show) and any other memories you associate from the time - all are welcome on this thread.

I discovered Prisoner on here, back in the '80s. At first I wouldn't watch it, due to being told that it was rubbish. I happend to catch an episode and was hooked from then on in.

Surely I'm not the lone voice from the highlands?

friday? i remember it being sunday, though my memory is shot...

Up in the Grampian region we would often get Prisoner three times a week! I used to get home as fast as I could after working late to make sure that I didn't miss an episode. There is not many programs I can say that I have done that for.

Hi,it may have been a Sunday,but has Mr 420 said,think i can remeber it being 3 times a week?

I watched from episode 1 on ITV, they used to take it off every time football was running late... very annoying, I also remember they cut out Eve Wilder's death scene! It was only when I watched on channel 5 some years later I noticed this...

I started watching on Grampian TV when I was still at school. I think it was 1991 or 1992 - I remember my mates going on about vinegar tits but by the time I started watching she had already gone (Fiona Spence appeared in Home and Away around the same time) but the freak was yet to arrive, so prob from around ep 250 onwards.

It was normally shown on Sundays and Mondays as I recall, and sometimes Tuesdays too on a good week. I used to hate it when they announced over the end credits 'and prisoner will be back in 3 weeks' (due to snooker or some such)

Unlike many TV stations,Ii think Grampian showed the entire series, and I clearly remember the last episode being shown in the spring of 1996, just before I left university in Aberdeen.

Thank god for youtube - I've seen it all form the start now and loved it.
