Showed my wife 2019's Joker. Pleasingly she also liked it (I was worried), said it was a big surprise. I liked it more on second viewing, I would now award 8/10 rather than 7/10 - a score she agrees...

Watched Amityville 3D in anaglyph 3D courtesy of a German blu-ray.

Switching our television to 'normal' mode instead of 'true cinema' made the 3D much more effective, before I tried that I was...

I watched an old Mark Kermode review earlier this evening. He talked about the emotional nature of the film and at the end, he said to make sure that you bring tissues to your screening. After the...

We watched A Monster Calls. Thought it was a truly excellent film. I'm not ashamed to admit that tears very much formed at two points during the film. Had to blow my nose at one point. :) That's...

I find it a bit frustrating when people shit all over Mother of Tears. If you bear in mind, that it had a FAR lower budget (and shooting schedule) than Suspiria or Inferno, you should definitely cut...

I don't mind sharing a pic of my arm. But first I must warn you that it has scars on it which have sliced through my old rough and ready Suspiria tattoo and the signature. I'm dependent on medication...

I'm obsessed with Dario Argento and am often upgrading the films on my Argento shelf. I've even pre-ordered the forthcoming Italian 4K UHD of Dracula. Edit: It's a pretty harmless hobby and I really...

I know you weren't asking me but I own the Scandinavian blu-ray but previously had an Italian bd. The Scandinavian one has much improved PQ over the Italian option. It even has English subtitles for...

Edit: That explains why the villain looks so damn weird. Because they were using heavy make-up in an attempt to...

Apologies to fans of it but I have a strong dislike for Giallo. The decision to also use Adrien Brody as the villain is an absolute film killer. It just can't recover from it. It amazes me that none...

If you can, it's worth checking out in Italian. It's a shame to loose the Max von Sydow voice but it's a much better experience. A good example is the killer raving/ranting to the prostitute at the...
