Well, I gave the unrated R1 DVD of the remake a spin earlier this evening - what a woeful piece of charmless filmmaking. It misses entirely the point of the original, with Jennifer setting up Saw-like traps for the victims. Instead of there being some passion to her revenge it becomes more of an exercise in elaborate death scenes. Too much planning on her part which ultimately stretches credibility. The original is far superior, the remake is soulless and without a philosophy. Totally pointless.
