Question Your Favourite Horror Film from 1982

1982 was a year for some brilliant horror films, but which one is your favourite? What makes it special to you? When did you first see it? Would you recommend it to the uninitiated?

Sometimes it's a hard decision to just pick one film (even when you're limiting it to a single year!), but my favourite film of 1982 is...

Tenebrae - Dario Argento

My favourite giallo of all time, and one of my favourite horror films, there isn't much I don't like about Tenebrae. From the score, to the cinematography, the bizarre twist, and some of the most iconic death scenes to ever be committed to celluloid.

Narrowly losing out to Tenebrae was The Thing, which is probably most people's choice for '82, and is another master blend of sci-fi and horror, which many people regard as Carpenter's best film to date (I'm an Assault on Precinct 13 man, myself ).

Runners Up:
Basket Case
Creepshow
The Entity
Halloween III: Season of the Witch
The Living Dead Girl
The New York Ripper
Pieces
Poltergeist
Q: The Winged Serpent
The Thing
