"The Devil Rides Out" all the way for me in this year. Not only Hammer's best film but a contender in my view for one of the greatest British films ever made. I think this has Lee's best performance in it and he just looks incredible in the role of the Duke, playing the character with total conviction. Along with "Simon:King of the Witches" this is the only film that carries any real sense of the occult for me, even if it is pure fantasy where as "Simon" is a pretty good look at Left Hand Path occultism from a truly occult point of view.

One of my prized possessions is the tie in book of the film that my Nan gave me when I was about 14.

This year also saw the second and third parts of the Findlays' "Flesh Trilogy".
