Default good old days

all this chat about VIPCO brought back memories a plenty, 'medusa' 'palace' and further back when home video hit the u.k. in the early 80's, all these small shops appeared with tapes to rent, everything from 'ferox' to 'debbie does dallas' just sitting on the shelves, yours for a couple of nights for £1.50, happy days indeed, til 1984 that is, younger members can only imagine seeing all the good stuff vanish in the space of a couple of months, many shops close, one guy i knew got his house raided cause he ran a small rental place in the town centre, his HOUSE!!! That was in 85, but while i remember, new vhs movies(even 'fall of new york') would come out at a eye watering £59.99, horrific in todays money...ah good old pre 1984 VRA days, feel like i'm in that python sketch "ahh... we had it tough." sigh
