You may be right, I read something similar in this forum not long ago. But I also look forward to Almar's clarification.

In the end, Argento's possibilities to prevent such a release would indeed be very small. However, I think he could succeed in forcing some kind of pre-opening title telling "This is Storaro's version of the movie. Dario Argento does not approve of it.". But I'm no expert.
