Gave another viewing to Tragic Ceremony last night.
I quite like this film, it has a slow, carefull, get to know the characters build up. Then around the mid way point all hell breaks loose in a crescendo of violence and gore.
The early scenes as the hippies explore the mansion they have been allowed to stay in overnight reek of Corman gothic - A woman in seethrough white descends a stair case lit only by a candlelight as the curtains billow in the wind, lightning crashes out of shot and shadows flicker on the wall.
The film stars Camille Keaton (I spit on your Grave) and is probably a better vehicle for her talents than her other more famous work.
Dark Sky's disc is as near to picture perfect as you could hope, with thankfully, a subtitled track rather than dubbing.
