I think that is due to it being out of circulation for so long. Did it even get a VHS release?

Vampix 19th April 2012 09:59 AM

I think Blood Beach was shown on TV on a couple of occasions, wasn't it?

mark meakin 22nd April 2012 09:42 AM

I decided to email Jam Entertainment regarding the Blood Beach dvd release as mine had yet to ship from Grooves Inc:-
"Hi Mark,

Thanks for your email.

The film has been released on April 20th as stated. One reason might be that our distribution partner is still sending out all pending orders.

Amazon.de ran out of units because of popular demand, so it should be available again there very soon.

Kind regards,

Martin Brunnett

JAM Entertainment"

Done well for the company so I hope they've done the release proud.:)

Yes on BBC1 but quite a few years ago.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 23rd April 2012 06:39 PM

Thanks for that Mark.
When I saw my Amazon disc hadn't shipped I feared the worst.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 25th April 2012 04:44 PM

PHEW!

Back in stock at Amazon and shipping tomorrow!:woot:

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 26th April 2012 10:09 PM

BLOOD BEACH has left the building!:woot:

Anyone else ordered this?

Mine's on its way Reaps.Fingers crossed it looks pretty decent.Good to see it's selling well.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 30th April 2012 07:33 AM

It arrived on Saturday mate!

bdc 30th April 2012 10:34 AM

A short review of the disc would be very welcome. ;)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 30th April 2012 06:41 PM

As soon as I pop it in B!

A forgotten B grade movie like this is worth 15 Euro's of anyone's hard earned!

No serious horror fan should be without one!

Paul@TheOverlook 30th April 2012 07:36 PM

That's sounds like a good endorsement.

Does that not qualify as a short review, Bruno? :D

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 30th April 2012 07:41 PM

The cover's worth the admission price mate!

Paul@TheOverlook 30th April 2012 07:44 PM

It's lovely, just like the old Media pre-cert.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 30th April 2012 07:48 PM

I'll fire it in the upstairs player tonight and let you know the verdict tomorrow!

Ain't seen this film since dogging school!

Paul@TheOverlook 30th April 2012 07:52 PM

Dogging school? Tell me more. Was Phil Mitchell there? :D

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 30th April 2012 07:53 PM

:pound:

Dogging school-a Gleswegian term for bunking off school!

Paul@TheOverlook 30th April 2012 07:58 PM

I thought it was a typo and that you meant dodging school! Dogging school sounds like an academy where the pupils learn the art of watching other people have sex in cars, doesn't it? :D

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 30th April 2012 08:20 PM

It does these days mate.

Blood Beach?
'Dug' Beach?

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 1st May 2012 06:15 PM

I watched the first five minutes of this last night, and the transfer,I'm pleased to say, looks rather nice!

Full frame, but it's been cleaned up rather well!

bdc 1st May 2012 07:11 PM

Thanks for the info Reaps. :)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 1st May 2012 07:15 PM

I watched the film a few nights ago & the transfer was pretty damn good.quite sharp & decent colour. It is shorter but I think all the missing footage (Just over two minutes) is included as an extra in German audio only.Very pleased with the release which certainly seems uncut in terms of the brief gore..:woot:

As did mine.

Pete 6th May 2012 12:44 PM

Any chance of some screenshots, chaps? :)

oaxaca 6th May 2012 04:50 PM

Was this ever released by Vipco on DVD in the early 2000s? I vaguely remember getting a slasher film by them featuring some sort of beach house and a couple who get chased around :s Anyone shed any light?

No, it's never been released on DVD here, sadly. The film you're thinking of sounds like THE SLAYER.

Here are a few screencaps from the decent looking German disc Pete.:):-

mark meakin 9th May 2012 02:45 PM

Looks fullframe from the shots I've chosen deliberately.Nothing vital seems missing in them if it's actually 4:3 fullscreen.

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 9th May 2012 04:46 PM

Yeah it look pretty good!

Anyone who enjoyed films like Humanoids From The Deep and it's ilk will enjoy this.

Well worth a punt!

bgart13 9th May 2012 04:55 PM

Wow, it does actually look quite good, considering. Thanks, Mark.

Thanks, Mark - looks much better than I expected.

Not seen it since 2000 when it was on the Sci-Fi channel on a double bill with SQUIRM :ack:

Gojirosan 9th May 2012 05:23 PM

Oi you! Squirm is great!

...such a wuss...
