Going to change my mind about RUM DIARY here.
Posted that I wasn't so keen but I was barely half-way through it. After finally watching the WHOLE damn movie I actually like it quite a lot.
The best way to explain the film is he's (bruce robinson) approached the book as the 'birth' of hunter s thompson, specifically the birth of his voice as a writer. Consequently the first portion of the movie dosent feel very hunter the way gilliams fear and loathing captured brilliantly, like being trapped in the pages of the book. By the end the film as a whole turns out to actually be rather good and certainly worth consideration.
After that I tried watching brit ghost story awakening but fell asleep (more to do with it being a long day.) It needs to be returned tommorow so i'll leave it for another day. My first impressions are perhaps too much like a tv drama rather than a feature film but I caught at least one pretty decent scare.
