They also call trousers 'pants' in Northern England, South Africa, and Australia.

Trousers is a word primarily and almost exclusively used in the south of England.

I have a South African friend who moved over to Surrey to work and study for a few years. On moving she walked into M&S and asked a sales assistant to show her where the pants were. Imagine her horror when he led her into the lingerie section.
