However...it seems that 'part three' is going to comprise of the appendices to both 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings', rather than being a 'proper' film

Because of this, I am unsure as to how you are supposed to actually view the whole saga:

The Hobbit - the Appendices - The Lord of the Rings?
The Hobbit - The Lord of the Rings - the Appendices?
The Appendices - The Hobbit - The Lord of the Rings?

Oh well, time will tell I suppose
