I do however, feel that the original was much more powerful than the remake in the way it condemns rape. That cannot be denied. Although I felt a little let down watching the final two kills in the "revenge section", as neither one of them is nearly as powerful as the previous kill, where she kills Johnny in that immortal castration scene.
Bottom line, don't really know why I prefer the remake... Again though, I DO think the original is a good film
