Yeah, it's a shame really... they put out some quality films - particularly in the Italian zombie department. It's just so annoying that not only did they neglect to put any cover art on any of their DVD releases, but the text that they used instead was hideous and cheap looking anyway... and not even in an ironic way.
It's almost a relief that they've stopped now... let someone with abit of a style and pulp sensibility put some films out. I supposed that's where Shameless come in.
On an unrelated note, my local HMV (which is about the size of a large airing cupboard) stocked both the New York Ripper and Phantom of Death... I say "stocked"; they had a copy of each - both of which I snapped up - but that's pretty impressive considering their poor track record for stocking even the most mainstream of horror films. |
Have to say although Vipco released some good titles, their DVDs were rubbish.
