The release is definitely worth owning. The transfers for the two films are struck from older masters, most likely masters that were prepared some time ago for the DVD releases. There are some light scratches, small specks, etc.
But they are raw. None of this problematic machine noise that we have been seeing on "newer" transfers is here. There are no sharpening/degraining corrections to make the films look "new". In other words, while the age of the masters (and obviously the transfers) shows, these films have organic looks.
