Obviously people are going to stand by their opinions, that's human nature surely? Kermode has the good grace to admit when he has said something which doesn't turn out to be true, not in terms of him retracting what he thinks of the film but, for example, when he suggests a film won't be appreciated by it's target audience and it turns out they really do love it. If you think otherwise you probably haven't heard enough of his reviews
