"The Fog" WOW! I read it when it first came out in '75? '76? Well, whenever, I bought it 'cause it was advertised on t' side o' t' buses. I could not put t' damn thing down. I loved t' way Herbert introduced a character, fleshed 'em out into a believable character and then killed 'em in a spectacular fashion (pecked to death by homing pigeons, anyone?)
I went to t' main library, here in Portsmouth, just before Christmas to see an interview wi' t' great man. He's a peach, even my daughter enjoyed it.
I still have fond memories of all James Herbert's early books, all of 'em stained with t' viscera of his fictional victims.
