I watched Mulholland Drive again recently - it really does fit together perfectly, aside from some weird flourishes (mainly grotesque Hollywood caricatures) it makes perfect sense - it's truly one of the most tragic films ever made, a failed and jilted actress fantasising a better life before blowing her brains out in a seedy motel. If you have spare dough the Lynch autobigraphy by (I think) Greg Dark is fantastic with the chapter on MD a real stand out.
Inland Empire hinges on the Buddhist belief in karmic recurrence but I'm still grappling with that one to be honest. What an ending though, Lynchs greatest hits - one for the fans.
Fire Walk With Me is one of my top 5 all time movies, it's sensational.
Episode 14 of Twin Peaks is the most harrowing thing Lynch has ever done - beware.
No director has given me the pleasure that DL has, he is The Man.
