Lol HDMI carries sound but DVI normally (seems there are a few exceptions with newer graphics cards) doesn't carry sound,they certainly know their stuff.

You have a desktop tower right?
Because it's a totally different thing with laptops.

You're using a hdmi port on the computer to hdmi in or are you using dvi port and audio ports to hdmi in?

Or something else?

Btw been thinking and its possible that your graphics card (if it has a hdmi port) is connected via a little cable to a sound source (card or on board),could be an idea to check that connection as well.

Note that not all hdmi graphics cards will have the connection.
