The Great Spy Chase (aka Les Barbouzes) (Olive Films)
This one is such a joy - it really is enormous fun. I had a feeling that there was a chance that this was going to be good considering that it had the same cast and writing/directing team that Monsieur Gangster had (which I also really liked).
It's basically a spy spoof - a French weapons seller/dealer pops his clogs, and French spy (Lino Ventura) has to go to his wife and obtain important documents. Other foreign agencies send their spies (a German, a Russian etc) and you have a situation where they're trying to kill, if not outdo, each other. Like with Monsieur Gangster, there's a great repetitive running gag involving a window and overall, it's two hours very well spent.
I think this is region A locked.
I'd also recommend Olive's BD of Greed in the Sun, which is region free, which also stars Lino Ventura - there are less laughs in it, but it's still very entertaining.
