NIGHT OF THE BIG HEAT
It seems that one barely glimpsed blob has invaded the island of Fara ( and quickly dispensed ) in this late 60s sci fi offering. Despite all the nonsense, it's an enjoyable tale, due to the excellent cast who really go for it. Indeed, it has quite an adult tone at times, particularly in the Patrick Allen / Jane Merrow relationship. There's a nice ( if fairly brief ) recent interview with Chris Lee on here too.
HANDS OF THE RIPPER
One of the most enjoyable latter day Hammers gets a Blu-ray release from Network. Although the brightly lit daytime scenes look terrific, some of the darker interior shots look pretty fuzzy. It's almost like half the picture isn't as sharp as the other. You'll know what I mean when you see it. Disappointed with this. Here's hoping Network up their game for their next Hammer BDs.
