Christopher Walken is great as Frank White one of the most contradictory mob bosses i can think off. A man with some very good intentions who at least within his own world has morals and principles. Taking out the competition not just for power but because they're running his beloved city into the ground.
Cops that despite being good cops that we should actually be rooting for i found myself wanting to see Frank and his boys triumph over.
A good solid cast including Morpheus and Blade and some lovely stylised camera work around the rainswept streets of New York help make this a film i will be going back to sooner rather than later.
Incidentally its also only the second Ferrara film I've seen after his Body Snatchers film which i can barely remember.

'The King of New York' is a great film. I think the other top-of-the-list Ferrara numbers have to be 'Ms 45' and 'Bad Lieutenant'. I really like 'Driller Killer', although thousands more don't.
