Always loved this series, saw it on tv ages ago must have been early 90's as i think i was about 15,definitely in my top five tv drama series of all time.
There was a remake but from what i saw of it it looked pants.
They showed the original about a year ago on a freeview channel.

I actually visited Portmeirion in Wales about 18 years ago, where they filmed the village scenes, it's a totally mental place where there's a really bizarre mix of architecture. A lot of it looked the same as in the series still, the gift shop is in no.6's house.
Also you could take a walk to the seafront and i imagined a big white ball bouncing across the sand.
