Criterion, Kino, Mill Creek and Shout! have to lock discs because of the licencing agreements each has with the majors that licence the titles (Sony, Fox, MGM and Universal mostly but Criterion also has a deal with Paramount and Mill Creek with Disney).
Twilight Time's 100+ title library is region free with the exception of two titles (THE DISAPPEARANCE and HEAVEN AND EARTH) which were locked at the behest of the licensors (Icon and Warner Bros.). |
Ah didn't know Kino and Mill Creek. Mill Creek I only have one title of and assumed it was a one off locking. Their transfer of Happy Birthday to Me was fantastic, top movie as well
