I didn't see it at the cinema because I was busy with assignments, and sadly it isn't available to rent from Lovefilm/Amazon. The extra footage does help the film, and with regard to the added Jimmy Olsen footage in the ultimate edition (and without spoiling anything), the only reason anyone really knew it was him in the theatrical cut, is because Zack Snyder told us in interviews.
