No, You're right. I can't see it being a success at all. Battlestar Galactica was probably the last successful sci-fi series of this ilk, and even that only lasted for 2 short seasons and 2 long seasons. Caprica was cancelled before the end of its first season and Blood and Chrome was never even picked up.
