It is similar, but not the same, to Halloween III: Season of the Witch, which has absolutely nothing to do with Michael Myers and the previous two films in the Halloween series. As such, Halloween 4 had to be definitively subtitled The Return of Michael Myers in order to attract the cinemagoers who had been confused or felt let down by Halloween III and wanted to see Michael Myers butcher people instead of some strange plot to kill children with masks and bits of Stonehenge flown across the Atlantic! |
I think someone was trying to cash in on the Halloween title after the success of the previous two movies. The title was a bit misleading season of the witch when there wasn't a witch. I can't remember much about it except Dan O Herily being in it.
