For me, it depends entirely on the film. That's why I have the Filmmakers Signature Series release of
The French Connection where the colouring is correct and looks much better than the Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment BD set, but don't know too much about what the director and/or DoP thought about how
The Suckling or
Iron Master should look.
