I agree.
I used to enjoy Absurd a lot more, when I was younger.
But it could be, because it was the very first Italian gore movie (together with New York Ripper on the same tape), I saw back in my early teens.
Seeing them both now on blu-ray, Anthro sure have better locations (the house looks great), better gore, and more interesting characters.
Absurd spends too much of the running time, with that incredibly boring family, watching football, and that annoying piece of shit kid, who I wish got eaten by Eastman.
Visually it's boring, compared to Anthro.
But I still have a weak spot for the movie, and the scene with the saw, is a highlight
Anthro is insanely slow in the first half, but as soon as they reach the house, and the storm arrives, it actually becomes quite atmospheric.
And thankfully, the hilariously horrible music also calms down a bit, and almost start to sound a little bit like an actual score.
At times, it sounds like someone handed a Casio keyboard, to a bunch of deranged monkeys
So happy with this release
