I'm now reading Jonathan Rigby's
Euro Gothic from cover to cover.
I adored
English Gothic this second time round (i originally read the paperback version over a decade ago), that may be because i own so many of the films discussed, yes even the creaky old 40's and 50's stuff - thanks Network - meaning i had more idea of what was being discussed. I probably own about 70% of the films mentioned. I even bought about ten whilst reading it.
Euro Gothic isn't quite as impressive because of a lack of familiarity with the films mentioned. I've just finished the silent era so many of the films aren't even available to buy.
However i love his prose style so it's an enjoyable read no matter.
