Looking at the specs, the new Blu-Ray release contains the following special features: - All Region Codes
- NEW (2018) 2K Scan and Restoration from Positive Elements
- Restored LPCM Original Mono Audio
- Optional English Subtitles
- Original Trailer
- Restoration Comparison
- Reversible Sleeve
- Cardboard O-Ring
Compared to the original 88Films DVD release, which contained: - All Region Codes
- ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN 1.85:1 TRANSFER
- ORIGINAL MONO AUDIO
- AUDIO COMMENTARY BY DIRECTOR ALFRED SOLE & EDITOR EDWARD SALIER
- ALTERNATIVE “COMMUNION” TITLE SEQUENCE
- ORIGINAL TRAILER
- STILLS GALLERY
- REVERSIBLE SLEEVE
the Blu-Ray adds a restoration comparison, but loses the commentary, alternate title sequence and stills gallery
Special features matter to me, so I don't think I would bother with the new re-issue |
Same here, sticking with the dvd as special features are the main selling point when buying (or re buying) a cult title!
