Apart from the cute exploding head the cuts are minimal and won't spoil anything. Unlike the old video versions which were absolutely massacred.

Nah, it's not really necessary to see
Night first. Two different styles/eras of film on the whole (though both excellent). It'd be interesting to see which cut of
Dawn you prefer. I've always preferred the theatrical print.
Personally I thought the
Dawn remake was atrocious.
