Anthony Hopkins plays a magician who is laughed of stage ,a year later he comes back and is a huge hit with his new act that includes a ventriloquist dummy called fats. He goes off to to see a old crush he had when he was a kid and too escape his manager . As time goes on Corky (Hopkins) begins acting strangely and kills his manager , he slowly begins a decent into madness as the film goes on its left up too the viewer to decide if he is using the dummy to project his desires and what he is unwilling to do or is the dummy alive in some way? A fantastic piece of acting from Hopkins and expertly directed Richard Attenborough. Not partially scary but very chilling and atmospheric. 9/10
Was thinking of watching leatherface tomorrow.
