The
Ally McBeal/The Practice crossover. When one of their big clients is arrested for the murder of her husband, the team at Cage & Fish, who specialise in civil rather than criminal law, turn to another Boston law firm for help. This crossover two-parter demonstrates some incredibly skillful writing from David E. Kelley, taking a single plot across two wildly different shows (one a silly comedy series, the other a dark drama) and characters and making it not only come across as seamless but enormously entertaining to boot. This positively sped by, and did not feel like an hour and a half of my time.
