It all depends which country you come from. The ratings you mention are a mixture of US and UK.

It should be obvious what an 18 rated film is. It's a UK certificate given by the BBFC.

An X rated film is a UK film certificate given by the BBFC prior to the video recordings act. Similar to an 18 nowadays. It's nothing to do with pornographic content. That would be rated R-18.

An R-rated film is a US rating and is the same as a UK 15 rating. It also means that anyone under 17 (i think) must be accompanied by an older person.. Unrated in the US is the same as our 18 certificate,
