Footnote - I did end up borrowing
Venom's
Warhead 12" from mate. I loved it.
It was pure evil personified on vinyl. I'd never heard anything like it. It's still my favourite
Venom song and i still find it rather scary.
Venom - Warhead At War With Satan (1984)
The third album i got was
Black Sabbath's Greatest Hits on vinyl.
That bloody cover. Hieronymous Bosch's
The Triumph of Death with all those skeletons slaughtering and dismembering folk. Seriously take a look at the image below. How it must have fascinated and freaked an impressionable kid (In the early 80's things really weren't like they were now being a kid)
I won't even go into Ozzy's performance of NIB. "My name is Lucifer, please take my hand"
To be honest, it's a miracle i didn't need therapy.
