A Time to Kill (1996)

Joel Schumacher's take on John Grisham's powerful story of a murder trial and the racial tensions and violence it brings to a small Mississippi town is a brutal incendiary thriller.

A stellar ensemble cast on top form - McConaughey, L Jackson, Bullock, Spacey, both Sutherland's, to name but six of them - bring this classic drama to life.

A Time to Kill is one of those films that when watched could be discussed for hours such is it's subject matter, but i won't. I will simply say it's a fantastic movie that holds so much emotion and is up there with the very best the nineties... no, cinema as a whole, has to offer. A terrific movie which is sadly just as relevant today 25 years on as it was back then.
