Character(s): Newscaster
Note (i): Also provided the voice of Zor on the Argo Records audio story 'Doctor Who and the Pescatons'
Note (ii): Strange one this. Although this character had been cast for episode six of the story, director Paul Bernard made a last-minute decision to only use footage involving Congressman Brook. The newsreader gets a mention in the target novelisation, as well as a credit both on-screen and in Radio Times, but actually does not appear in televised Doctor Who. Incidentally, the novelisation makes no distinction between this newscaster and the one that was played by Louis Mahoney in the first episode. It is possible, therefore, to believe that this character doesn't actually exist in any form of Doctor Who!
