I think i had more fun watching Halloween 4 The Return of Michael Myers last night than you did with Halloween Kills.

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)

The best of what is now a stand alone sequel trilogy which pits Donald Pleasence's Dr Loomis against his old foe Michael Myers. Gorier than the original but not as chilling, although this is still a fine slasher film in it's own right. A good supporting cast - Ellie Cornell, Danielle Harris and Beau Starr - constantly give the viewer someone to root for.

Cat People (1942)

The first of producer extraordinaire Val Lewton's 1940's horror films which veered away from the monsters and creatures of Universal and subjected the viewer to the powers of suggestion and the terror of what might happen, with the fabulous Simone Simon a sensual accomplice to our fears all playing out against a chilling backdrop of light and shadow.

This is wonderfully directed by the great Jacques Tourneur.
